Infants and Children
Infant care is all about milestones and being sure the spine develops correctly. A chiropractic adjustment for an infant is very different than it is for an adult; we are very gentle and use light pressure without the characteristic popping noises. At birth an infant’s spine is a long C-shaped curve and develops into its final S-shape by the time they begin walking. Chiropractic care helps this development to occur correctly to prevent problems down the road.
Chiropractic care has also been found to help infants cope with chronic ear infections, GERD, feeding and sleeping problems, and many other common infant health issues.
The research on the value of chiropractic care for children is growing every day. We are finding that children who get regular chiropractic care can experience a wealth of benefits. Chiropractic care improves focus in school, immune system function, and relieves chronic childhood conditions like asthma, ear infections, scoliosis and ADHD. More information can be found at www.icpa4kids.org.
Chiropractic care for children is more gentle than techniques used in adults. For children we often use much less force and grand movements are avoided.
For children with special needs like ADHD or Autism spectrum techniques can be changed entirely to an extremely low force technique that calms the nervous system.
Adults and Elderly
Many adults are driven to chiropractic care by back and neck pain. Whether you experience chronic migraines or a recurring low back problem, chiropractic care may be able to help you. In fact, chiropractic care can help with a variety of health-related problems such as chronic knee pain from arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome or wrist pain, tennis elbow, frozen shoulder syndrome, bursitis, balance issues, vertigo and much more can be alleviated by chiropractic care.
Many aches and pains are caused by joints not aligning properly putting stress on muscles, ligaments, nerves, cartilage and bones – all of which can cause pain. Many of these problems can be addressed with a focused chiropractic treatment plan.
A common myth about chiropractic is that once you begin chiropractic care you must continue it for the rest of your life. The truth is you only need to continue chiropractic care for as long as you would like to experience its wonderful benefits. Benefits of chiropractic care include improved immune system function, better focus, fewer aches and pains, improved balance, and a better ability to cope with common daily stressors.
Pregnancy
Dr. Jayme has special certification to assist women through the many physiological changes that can occur in pregnancy. Pregnancy releases many new hormones and includes many postural changes as mom’s belly grows to accommodate the new baby. Chiropractic in pregnancy consists of addressing the hips and spine to adjust to pregnancy resulting in the relief of some of the discomfort associated with these physical changes. Research indicates that women who receive chiropractic care during pregnancy can lead to faster, easier births with fewer medical interventions.
