Back Pain or Bulging Disc
Low back pain is one of the most common conditions for which patients present for chiropractic care and is one of the most commonly researched chiropractic conditions. Clinical studies have shown that chiropractic is often more effective in treating low back pain than placebo and other medical treatment.
Managing bulging disc pain is also frequently done by chiropractic. At Keystone Chiropractic, we believe that trials of conservative care like chiropractic, physical therapy, and home care should come before drugs and surgery. If we are able to measure improvement for a condition with safe, gentle and effective chiropractic care, we feel there is little need for surgery. We do, however, recognize that there are cases that cannot be treated by chiropractic care and will work with you to find another provider who can help.
Neck pain caused by computer work, school work, or poor posture
Modern day technology like laptops, cell phones and computers have completely changed our posture and put a large amount of stress on the muscles of our necks. This extra stress can cause pain and burning between the shoulder blades along the tops of the shoulder. Increased stress on the muscles of the neck can also cause neck pain, headaches, and misalignment of the vertebrae of the neck. A chiropractor can address these problems by removing the extra stress from the muscles of the neck with stretches and exercises to further relax muscles, strengthen posture, and improve the alignment of the vertebrae.
Headaches
A large portion of chronic headaches are caused by misalignment of vertebrae in the neck and at the base of the head. This misalignment puts stress on the muscles and ligaments surrounding the joints. Another common cause of chronic headaches are head injuries – it is all too common for a patient to walk into my office stating that they have been having headaches for 2 years because of a mild concussion without realizing a head injury cannot occur without involving the neck.
Migraines
Migraines are typically associated with vascular changes in the brain and head. With chiropractic, we can identify triggers for migraines and even relieve the frequency and intensity of some types of migraines.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
The cause of carpal tunnel syndrome is often misunderstood. Recent research has found that although true carpal tunnel syndrome stems from the wrist often times there are other places between the neck and the wrist that can also be involved. At Keystone Chiropractic we work not only to address the wrist in carpal tunnel patients, but also all the other areas along the arm and neck that could be further perpetuating the numbness, weakness and discomfort that comes with carpal tunnel syndrome.
Other common conditions we treat include pinched nerves, muscle weakness, ear infections or plugged ears, colic, and bed wetting.
